116: Is the NRA show still worth the investment?

For those of you who can't make the NRA show this week, here's what happened (yes, we boldly predict the future):
Experts revealed that the foodservice business is on the rebound... fueled by major trends [insert your favorite trend here]... all of which will be replaced by new trends next year. Of course, the basics -- beef, chicken, french fries, ketchup and apple pie -- will continue to be the giant sellers as they are every year (so let's not invest in marketing these products!).
- Amazing robotic machinery was unveiled that will replace foodservice prep workers... except for the fact foodservice still can't find enough great employees. Clearly, operators are looking for the wrong qualifications... kitchen staff apparently need robot programming skills, not culinary experience.
- About 10,000 new food products were introduced... each one will single-handedly create immense profits and simplify the life of foodservice operators everywhere. So, all operators can take the rest of the year off. Really, between the robots and 10,000 new products, there's really not much left to do to run a joint.
- The Budweiser booth had over-flowing crowds.
We just saved you thousands of dollars in travel costs and hours of schlepping the show floor (feel free to send donations as a thank you).
OK, on to serious trade show talk... in this DSR Insights, co-hosts DSR Dave Miesse and Bill Hornung yak about the future of the NRA show, including:
- A new way of analyzing your trade show exhibit costs.
- Why ONE tradeshow lead costs you at least $357.
- How, for the same $357, you could reach 35 DSRs who influence more than 1,000 operators everyday.
- And why $357 spent on DSRs will generate even more leads, higher brand loyalty and, ultimately, drive more sales.
We added two visual aids below to go along with today's DSR Insights podcast. Wow... it's almost like watching a PowerPoint presentation... except without the human interaction (our first step towards replacing ourselves with robots).
