Many of us believe that our problems are a result of life's randomness and the actions of others, but in reality, we all have habits that form patterns of behavior that lead to most of those problems.

If you can change your habits, your entire world can change. First, you have to understand the habit that is causing problems that create hurdles in your path to success. Then you have to be able to perceive the habits that can lead to being successful as a DSR, and in life, and start practicing them.

We all have direct control over problems caused by our own behavior. We can solve these problems by changing our habits. We have indirect control over problems related to other people’s behavior. We can maybe help solve these problems by using various methods of human influence, such as empathy, confrontation, example and persuasion. For problems over which we have no control we must first recognize that we have no control, and then gracefully accept that fact and make the best of the situation.

Your response to what happens to you affects you more than what actually happened. You can choose to use difficult situations to build your character and develop the ability to better handle such situations in the future.

Successful DSRs are proactive and use their resourcefulness and initiative to find solutions rather than just reporting problems and waiting for other people to solve them. Being proactive means assessing the situation and developing a positive response for it.

How do you determine the habits that form the direction of your life, good and bad, and what can you do to choose the right ones?

So if you don’t like the results you’re getting in the way your relationships are flowing, or you don’t like the way your body looks or the way it feels, or you are not happy with the results you’re getting with your business, or feel like you can’t ever get organized, or you’re basically feeling like you are not getting the desired results in your life, then you need to change the habits in your life.

Once a DSR decides to be proactive, exactly where they focus their efforts becomes important. There are many concerns in our lives, but we do not always have control over them. Proactive DSRs focus their efforts on the things over which they have influence, and in the process, often expand their area of influence.

Keep in mind that change starts from within, and successful DSRs make the decision to improve their lives through the things they can influence rather than by simply reacting to external forces.
