118: Yes, foodservice marketing is in a tizzy… what do we do next?

dsi118graphicjpgMarketers love sending out surveys... now it's your chance to answer one after reading and listening to this Insights episode

Foodservice social media sites are popping up all over.  Trade media is going digital.  DSRs are becoming a new marketing audience for marketers.

Some even think Twitter is important [insert your own joke here].
With so many spinning plates, we’re thinking it’s time for an industry conference focused on the New World Order of Foodservice Communications.  More of a "roll-up-your-sleeves workshop focused on pragmatic… even, dare we say it, tactical things that just don’t get covered much in your typical conference.

A place where manufacturers, distributors, brokers, media and association make deals to test drive some of the latest and greatest communications ideas.

The hardest part in all the changing dynamics is where to start. We hear this from marketers everywhere.  So, this event would provide the venue to quickly assess the options out there... and maybe pass along some incentives to marketers to help them get started.
In the entertainment world, this idea has been around forever.  They’re called Upfront Events. It’s where the networks rollout the new schedule of TV shows during a small window on the calendar.  Marketers haggle on the spot to lock down specials and exclusives for the next Big Thing.

It’s not just about advertising (although that can be part of it).  It’s locking down tDSRInsightsphotobylinepnghe total experience involving promotions, product placements, training, special events… you name it.  These have become even more important in recent years because compelling content is what drives awareness these days… not your typical advertising campaign.  Especially when trying to figure out how to reach younger folks out there who spend more time online or with their mobile device.

It’s also a great way to hear in one place all the amazing things media partners, distributors, agencies and many others are rolling out.  Let alone the online hybrids that are appearing that cross traditional lines in marketing.

So let’s us know what you think.  PLEASE take three minutes to give us your opinion on such an event.  Everybody who completes our short survey will be entered into our Grand Prize Drawing… DSR Live! will host an 90-minute presentation onsite at your company FREE.  We do these fun, informative events all over the country for $2,000 a pop... so, hey, it beats going to another HR meeting on how to fill out insurance forms.
