122: Clichés to live by in foodservice marketing

Let's list several clichés to make our point in this DSR Insights episode (hey, clichés are clichés for a reason):

  • Seeing is believing.
  • A picture is worth a thousand words.
  • Sales people sell what they know.
  • Business people make purchases primarily based on recommendations of trusted associates (i.e DSRs!).
  • The simplest things are often the truest.
  • 20% of your effort will generate 80% of your results.

davebillbylinesmallpngUsing our Foodservice Science formula, all these cliches sum up to...

... Show and tell DSRs simply and visually why your best-selling products matter so DSRs care enough to understand your goods.   DSRs will then recommend the products to their operator customers.  Customers will buy.  And everybody wins.

Next week we'll publish our updated AFDR Top 200 Best-Selling Foodservice Products in dry, refrigerated, frozen and non-foods categories.  And our offer to post and/or produce a free, short training video for any product on the list still stands.  You'll see dozens of new videos next week we've already created.

But hurry.  Products we squeeze into our next video session on September 7 is probably the last time we'll make this offer.  Listen to this week's episode with DSR Live! co-hosts DSR Dave Miesse and Bill Hornung as they yak about the importance of plain, simple, short training videos... one of the most effective marketing tools around.  We even talk about one manufacturer who is doing it well (although there are many!).
