Should foodservice marketing “stop shouting”… and start listening?

We're all hearing that social media is fundamentally changing everything we all once knew as marketers.  But as Brad "Briz" Brizendine sees it... the change comes down to one simple concept...

Lower your "shouting" of traditional advertising, rebates, websites and other traditional marketing that screams "look at me, hey... over here!".  Marketing is transitioning to "listening" and being a patient participant as part of a conversation with customers and prospects. 

Many marketers continue to struggle with this simple, but hard to implement concept, after being raised on media schedules and print runs.   Giving up even a small piece  of the "shouting" to experiment with the new "listening" mode is still traumatic for many.
