Kathi Bassham of Shamrock Foods, New Mexico is the latest inductee into the AFDR DSR Hall of Fame.
A lesson learned: Don’t put all of your eggs in one basket when it comes to selling large customers.
For many of the 19 years that Kathi has been a DSR Professional, she has been in the top echelon of DSRs. Then suddenly, two of her largest customers changed direction and switched distributors!
Bassham went from being a Veteran DSR managing millions of dollars and tons of products, to working like she was a beginning DSR again out making cold calls. Kathi said it was the most humbling experience she’s ever had to go through, making it difficult to face the true reality of it all because of where she had been in her career.
Being down and out on herself, this Hall of Fame DSR had to pick herself up, brush herself off, and get back to the basics by starting all over in a new territory of cold calling and opening new accounts.
Kathi is now having the time of her life building her business and meeting new customer friends while selling 4.5 million dollars! This second time around, she’s building and managing her business differently by dealing mostly with the owners of the establishments so together, they can both make money.
Listen to Kathi’s motivating story, because she’s back on top!
